Fort Bend Beekeepers Association

For more than 30 years, the Fort Bend Beekeepers Association (FBBA) has represented and assisted beekeepers locally.  FBBA is a branch of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service Fort Bend County.  The Association is affiliated with the Texas Beekeepers Association, thereby getting statewide and national news of the honeybee industry.  The objective of the Association is to promote beekeeping to the public and provide advice and assistance to beekeepers.  The Association provides educational programs through talks, schools, shows and demonstrations.

The FBBA consists of 25 to 30 members who range from commercial beekeepers to small scale hobbyists to beginners.  Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., excluding December.  The next meeting will be held January 12. The meetings are held at the Fort Bend County Extension Office located at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg, Texas.  Minutes are distributed through the monthly newsletters sent to all members.  A small annual fee of $5 is required of all members.

The Fort Bend Beekeepers Association will provide you with all necessary information and will assist you in any way.  It is recommended that you attend a monthly meeting and meet the local beekeepers.  You may visit bee yards to see what is involved in working with bees.
